healthcare.gov was repaired. the obama administration says 29,000 people enrolled online since it was repaired in a single day. that's more than the number of those that signed up in the entire month of october. >>> rescue workers in florida are trying to save a huge pod of whales. almost four dozen pilot whales were stranded in shallow water in the everglades national park. 10 have died. >>> a couple was rescued as well as their dog in a fire. a up in a deliveryman smelled smoke at the house about 2 a.m. and called 911. >>> bart director also get an update on reforms in the agency's police department today. retired bart police chief patrick oliver spent the summer checking on 55 reforms that were recommended in 2010. today oliver will deliver his assessment to the bart board. >>> heavy snow and cold temperatures are putting much of the nation's midsection in the deep freeze this morning. more than 3 feet of snow has already fallen in parts of minnesota and deep snow with the risk of avalanches closing some roads in colorado. wind chills in montana by the way dropped to 30 below zero.

obama administration says the new improved healthcare.gov website is working and is now time for americans to purchase health insurance but as susan mcginnis reports, the group the white house most wants to sign up may be the hardest sell. >>> reporter: the obama administration says 29,000 americans enrolled on healthcare.gov in the first two days after it was fixed. that includes dawn from texas. she is a self-employed musician who is buying health insurance for the first time in 20 years. >> i was very surprised at the prices actually. we entered all my tax info and income and stuff and i was pleasantly surprised. >> reporter: erin is in her 40s and has health problems but for the new law to work the white house needs millions of healthy young people to sign up to make coverage more affordable for everyone else. the president made his pitch during a white house youth summit wednesday. >> i hope you haven't been discouraged by how hard it's been because stuff that's worth it's always hard. >> reporter: a new harvard university poll shows only 20% of americans under 30 plan to en
